In August 2005, the Alliance for Excellent Education released the findings of a comprehensive national survey of public opinion on high schools. This poll, conducted by Lake Snell Perry Mermin/Decision Research, was the first focusing on secondary schools conducted after President Bush and many governors announced, earlier in the year, major initiatives to improve the educational experience of and outcomes for America's older students. A summary of the findings from the Alliance's poll is available. In addition, the press release and video from the release event are available.
