Polls: Voters concerned with competitiveness, education link

The link between student achievement and U.S. global economic competitiveness engages voters most when they consider education issues as a factor in their 2010 voting, according to Rick Johnson of Lake Research Partners...Out of all likely voters who responded to a Lake Research Partners poll conducted for the Alliance for Excellent Education between June 15-30, 73 percent see an "urgent" need to improve public high schools, compared to 67 percent for middle schools and 63 percent
