Brad Jupp is senior academic policy advisor to the superintendent of Denver Public Schools. Previously Mr. Jupp served as a union representative and teacher leader in the collaborative effort between the district and the Denver Classroom Teachers Association to create a compensation system based, in part, on student learning. ProComp is a teacher compensation system based on teacher accomplishment in four areas: demonstrated student learning, demonstrated classroom performance, the acquisition and demonstration of new knowledge and skills, and commitment to work in hard-to- serve schools and hard-to-staff assignments. In his most recent classroom assignment, Mr. Jupp was lead teacher at the Alternative Middle School of the Contemporary Learning Academy where he taught language arts and social studies. From 1989 to 2004, Mr. Jupp volunteered as a member of the negotiations team for the Denver Classroom Teachers Association. Mr. Jupp has been an employee of the Denver Public Schools since 1987.
