Dr. Elena Silva is a senior policy analyst at Education Sector, where she oversees the organization’s teacher quality initiatives and directs a number of mixed-method research projects designed to evaluate education reform efforts at the national, state, and local levels. Prior to coming to Education Sector, Silva served as the director of research for the American Association of University Women, where she led a number of national research projects on gender equity in education and the workplace. Silva holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and MA and PhD degrees in education from the University of California-Berkeley.
